Special Scheme to provide electric connection free of cost to the Un-electrified Anganwadis in the State

 Borad Order 

       The Director, Women & Child Development Department as per letter read as 4" above, has   sought
assistance in providing electric connection to around 2256 un-electrified Anganwadis in the State  as partof a special drive in connection with the 100 days programme of the Government. A district wise list of         such un-electrified Anganwadis was also identified so as to achieve the electrification   of Anganwadis by31 August 2021. It was also informed that the "Electrification of Anganwadis may be carried out with funds available by including the same in any of the existing projects of KSEBL and to expedite the processfor payments made from the Panchayath Women & Child Welfare Department
For effecting connections in case of Anganwadis, proof of ownership is not required for the period for
which the Anganwadis function in the said building: connection can be effected based on an undertakingfrom the concerned District Social Justice Officer or any other officer duly authorized by him, as per BO.
As per Regulation (32)of the Supply Code 2014, KSEBL as a licensee is bound to recover from the owneror lawful occupier of any premises requiring supply, the expenditure reasonably incurred by the licenseefor providing from the distributing main, any electric line or electrical plant required exclusively for thepurpose of giving that supply, provided that exemption may be granted to any person requiring connectionfrom the payment of expenditure if the State Government directs the licensee to provide new electric connection to any category of consumers and pays in advance to the licensee, the expenditure at therates in the Cost Data approved by the Commission
In the meeting held on 30.06.2021, chaired by the Hon'ble Ministers, the reports collected from the field
offices were reviewed and the following decisions were approved.
It was directed that a scheme shall be announced wherein wired buildings functioning as
Anganwadis, shall be effected free of cost, using Board's fund, with a maximum of inserting one
post, as expeditiously as possible.In case of Anganwadis requiring more than one post, the entire cost for effect connections shall be executed by using funds from the respective local body/ agencies
In places where it is not feasible to draw electric line considering its topography
factors, DDGs are to be setup for providing connection under the chairmanship of ANERT.
