KSEB will now provide LED bulbs to illuminate homes. Distribution of LED bulbs to home users will start in November as part of the 'Filament Free Kerala' project.
In the first phase, KSEB employees will deliver bulbs to 13 lakh registered households. Procedures for distribution of one crore bulbs have been completed. The user has to repay the price within ten months. Those who can can pay the full amount in a lump sum. Switching to LEDs will reduce power consumption. Naturally, the electricity bill will be lower than in the past.
With this amount of savings, the user can find the refund of the LED bulb. It is of nine watts. Those in need can still register. They will be provided with bulbs in the second phase. KSEB aims to distribute a total of 3 crore bulbs.
